Emergency Services
As the only CAA-licenced heliport in the City of London, for a number of years London Heliport has provided essential access to the emergency Police and Air Ambulance helicopter services that operate in and around the London area.
Primarily the Heliport is used for urgent operational refuelling for the emergency services helicopters operating in London. However, over the years, London Heliport has provided vital support in a number of emergency situations such as Medivac (patient & donor transfers) as well as at times of national emergency.
The most frequent emergency helicopters to visit the Heliport are the London Air Ambulance (HEMS) and the Met Police Air Support Unit (ASU).
London Air Ambulance (HEMS)
London Heliport is a proud sponsor of the London Air Ambulance, which provides an essential medical and trauma emergency service to the London population. For more information about the work of the London Air Ambulance or to make a donation please visit:

MET Police ASU
The Metropolitan Police Air Support Unit (ASU) is based at Lippitts Hill, Loughton where helicopter air support has been providing cover to London for almost 25 years.
The unit currently operates three Eurocopter Twin Squirrel helicopters on a 24-hour basis flying on average of over 260 hours per month. The unit's aircraft have flown almost twice as many hours as any other Eurocopter Twin Squirrel anywhere in the world.
