Air Traffic Controller - The London Heliport

 

About the Role

We are seeking someone work within the London Heliport ATC team responsible for the management of the flying programme and movement of aircraft in cooperation with a duty team of heliport colleagues from the RFFS/ Ground Handling and Operations Co-ordination departments and in liaison with your own ATC team colleagues managing the handover of duty watch functions.

 

Reporting to the Senior Air Traffic Controller (SATCO) you will be responsible for:

  • Provision of  Air Traffic Control services in compliance with published procedures and documentation, (MATS Pt. 1 and 2)
     

  • Specialist unit duties (including training instruction) to assist in the management of the ANSP

Essential requirements:

 

  • CAA Air Traffic Control previously validated and current ADV/ADI rating.

 

  • Minimum 2 years practical experience as an ATCO in an Air Traffic Control environment

 

  • Experience of working as a lone ATCO

 

  • Knowledge of SRATCOH regulations.
     

  • Knowledge and understanding of the EASA regulatory regime.
     

  • Understanding of customer needs
     

  • Communication and organisational skills
     

  • Self-motivation, flexibility and working as a team player
     

  • Eligible to work in the UK and provide proof of identity and address
     

  • Documented employment history over the last 5 years
     

  • Employment reference for the last 5 years
     

  • CAA Class 3 European Aviation Medical Certificate
     

  • ICAO English Language Proficiency Certificate at Level 5 or higher

Desirable requirements:

  • OJTI endorsement
     

  • Meteorological Observer qualification

Employment & Shifts:

This is a full time permanent position based on a shift pattern which will include early morning, evening shifts and weekend work, as well as Bank Holidays.

Successful candidates will be required to undergo CRB security checks in order to obtain an airside pass.

Pay:

Salary pay scales rising from £50,000 on successful validation and completion of employment probationary period to £65,000 after five years subject to length of service.

Additional allowances available for specialist roles and duties subject to qualifications where applicable.
